Ayurveda

Ayurveda, the “mother of all healing therapies“, has been practiced for over 5,000 years and is considered to be the basis for all natural medicine. „Ayur” means „life“ and „Veda” means “knowledge” - Ayurveda provides the essential knowledge needed to live a long, healthy and happy life.

Ayurvedic philosophy is based on a holistic way of thinking. The universe is reflected in the microcosm of „humans“. Body, mind and spirit are seen as one unit. The body is considered to be the „temple of the soul“, and its wellbeing is essential for mental growth and self-development.

In Ayurveda, all treatments and recommendations for increasing vitality, life satisfaction and immunity against disease depend on each person’s individual constitution. The five natural elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether) are present in different proportions in each individual, depending upon their constitution.

Ayurveda defines three organic energies: Vata, Pitta and Kapha (the so-called Doshas). Each dosha is in turn composed of the five natural elements: Vata (ether and air) is the principle of movement, Pitta (fire and water) is the thermal principle and Kapha (earth and water) is the principle of stability.

Ayurveda is using the the teachings of herbs to heal Body, Mind and Soul on all Levels.
